Control and Systems Engineering

Bioinspired control

In collaboration with biologists and neuroscientists we explore how biological systems are controlled and we develop control for engineering systems following the discovered biological principles. For example, we have explored head stabilisation behaviour in humans and how it facilitates stable locomotion with application to robotic systems.  Another project involving bioinspiration, is plant-inspired growing soft robots. Such robots are able to modify their morphology and self-evolve during operation.
